Information: may be found among leaf litter in damp, coniferous forests, not particularly common in most areas.
Description: body: elongate semi-ovate/oblong, midsection constricted; slender, convex. Dorsal colouration varies from vibrant magenta, dull violet, bluish-grey or dull magenta-grey, dull green-blue, metallic blue-green, metallic green-violet, and very rarely seen fully metallic blue. Ventral colouration should be semi-glossy to glossy black. Head elngate, triangular. The front of the head is strongly elevated, and strongly wrinkled, punctate, and dimpled-typically metallic gold, magenta, reddish, and green all at once, though colour ratios vary widely among individuals. The elevated frons slopes down to the labrum, which is rectangular, with opaque yellow-orange margins. Face long. Mandibles reddish with black tips and inner margins. The base of the head very slightly constricted into a thick 'neck'. Eyes bulging laterally. Antennal segments short, semi-clavate; black in colour; antennal pubescence begins on the third antennomere following the pedicel. Pronotum somewhat ovate, margins thinly beaded, except for the basal margin; base slightly constricted; mostly smooth. Front angles obtuse; lateral margins round; basal angles squared; basal margin weakly rounded. Disk weakly or strongly wrinkled; median line strong. Scutellum small, usually obscured by the pronotal base. 8-9 striae per elytron, derpth and overall definition varies, intervals flattish. Elytra elongate-ovate, slender; humeral shoulders round, steeply sloped apically; apices rounded. Legs black.
