Size: 3-4 mm

Information: Found in the leaf litter of various trees or feeding on shelf fungi.
Description: Body; Compact and ovular, red-brown in coloration, almost maroon, appendages also red-brown. Tarsal formula: 5-5-4. Antennae: clavate, 11 segments, 3-segment club. Entire body covered in small but obvious yellow setae. Pronotum hexagonal, two obvious tear-drop shaped antenal cavities can easily be seen from above. They extend from the pronotal apex along the lateral margins to about the middle of the pronotum. The point of the tear-drop shape is at the pronotal apex. Two smaller grooves, filled with yellow setae, can be seen extending down the sides of the pronotum towards the pronotal base and parallel (but not directly next to) the lateral margins. These grooves start immediately after the antennal grooves and are slightly obtusely triangular. Elytra form an ovular shape, but the apex of elytra is mostly flat. Sutural margin obvious. Elytra with around 5 columns of medium punctures. Near the elytral margins these punctures disappear due to many small yellow setae.
