Description: body: elytral colouration semi-glossy to matte black, head and pronotum matte. Head elongate-triangular, slender; face long. Surface of the head mostly smooth, the frons should have two shallow dimples, which continue onto the clypeus, where they become stronger. Clypeus rough; anterior(front) of the clypeus nearly transverse, though a small divot should be present at the median. Labrum resembles a slender, inverted 'U' shape, with a setigerous pit near the front of either dorsal front margin. Mandibles dark, elongate-slender; inner margins toothed; tips weakly curved. Palpi long, glossy black; each with a broad, semi-triangular final segment, front margin flat. Eyes somewhat reduced in size, bulging laterally. Small ridges present in front of, and above, the eyes. Antennae black, antennal pubescence begins on the third antennomere following the pedicel; antennal pubescence should appear reddish-brown. Base of the head weakly constricted. Pronotum semi-cordate, rather slender; the pronotal disk is widest just before the front margin, then narrowest at the pronotal base. Front margin somewhat transverse; front angles jut forwards weakly, obtuse; lateral margins thinly beaded, sinuous; lateral margins at the base should be parallel with each other; hind angles rounded, nearly squared; basal margin transverse. Pronotal disk mostly smooth, median line almost entire, though not touching the front of basal margin. Pronotal dorsal base gradually sloped down from the centre of the disk. Elytra convex, ovate. 15-16 shallow, nearly vanished striae per elytron, lined with closely-spaced punctures, which are often shallow at the centre of the elytra, along the elytral suture, intervals flat. Humeral shoulders round into the lateral margins, apices pointed. Ventral colouration glossy black, legs glossy black.
