Description: body; ovate-robust, pronotum smallish semi-cordate; strongly convex. Dorsal colouration should be very dark grey, nearly black; ventral colouration glossy black, legs black. Head very slender, strongly elongate. Head long-face about the same length. Surface of the head near the base sparsely punctate, heavy masses of microtubercules span from between the eyes to the front margin of the frons; an irregularly-sculptured 'W' shaped elevated sculpturing marks the front of the frons. The labrum, as on most Cychrini, should resemble an inverted 'U' shape, with a small, circular pit on either dorsal lateral margin. Mandibles glossy black, noticeably elongated; mostly straight, with a toothed inner margin, tips weakly curved. Palpi black, last segments broad, semi-triangular, front margin pale. Antennae black; antennal pubescence begins on the third antennomere following the pedicel. Eyes small, heavily reduced in size, bulging laterally somewhat. Pronotum semi-cordate; front margin mostly straight; fron angles acute, bent forward somewhat; lateral margin angles obtuse; hind angles obtuse, nearly squared. Lateral and front margins beaded. Pronotal disk not strongly elevated, but strigose. Median line typically fully, or partially vanished. Elytra ovate, strongly robust and convex. No striae should appear on this species. Elytra fused and suture. Humeral angles round; lateral margins round; apices weakly sinuate. 6-7 rows of tubercules of varying sizes may be found on the elytra, with heavy murication around them.
Epipleura heavily muricated.
