Description: body: ovate-robust, convex. Dorsal colouration: fully matte black. 35-37 shallow, pitted striae per elytron; intervals covered in overlapping murication, which are visually similar to fused reptile scales. Elytral margins nearly grey, upturned slightly, apex pointed; humeral angles obtuse-rounded. Scutellum exposed; base of pronotum does not overlap the base of the elytra. Pronotum short, but strongly transverse. Dorsal face of pronotum rough, margins thin, upturned. Vertex and occiput of head punctate, front flat, but rough. Mandibles broad, glossy black, with many dorsal wrinkles. Palps glossy black. Antennal segments after the pedicel clubbed; pubescence begins on the third antennomere after the pedicel. Ventral: legs glossy black, ventral faces fully glossy black.
