Description: body: elongate-ovate, somewhat robust. Dorsal colouration: pronotum matte black, margins upturned. Elytra matte or glossy black. 13-14 deep striae per elytron; intervals covered in overlapping, unevenly sized murication, which are visually similar to fused reptile scales. First few striations pitted, rest dotted with somewhat uneven, elongate granules, two to three rows of small, red, green, or yellow pits unevenly line the fourth, eighth, and sometimes eleventh elytral intervals. Elytral lateral margins black or green. Elytral margins upturned slightly, apex rounded; humeral angles obtuse-rounded. Scutellum exposed; base of pronotum does not overlap the base of the elytra. Pronotum transverse-cordate, hind angles obtuse-not rounded; front lateral margins round toward the head. Disk fairly smooth, slight wrinkles on top of the median line and around the disk margins. Vertex of head punctate, front flatish, but rough. Mandibles are broad, matte black, with many dorsal wrinkles. Palps glossy black. Antennae black, pubescence begins on the third antennomere after the pedicel. Ventral: legs glossy black, ventral faces fully glossy black.
