Information: predatory, primarily preying upon Lepidoptera adults and caterpillars, and other insects, mostly nocturnal.
Description: elongate-oblong, robust. Fully matte grey-black in colour, both dorsally and ventrally. Head triangular, face long; head notably punctate, heavily; eyes bulging strongly, but not particularly large; labrum '}'-shaped; mandibles long, thick, dorsally wrinkled; palpi black. Antennae black, first antennomere following the pedicel longer than the scapus; antennal pubescence begins on the third antennomere following the pedicel. Pronotum short, broad; transversely hexagonal; front margin straight; front angles obtuse; lateral margins strongly beaded, lateral margins strongly angular with an < shaped appearance; hind angles obtuse; basal margin weakly rounded. Pronotal disk rough, median line nearly fully vanished. Elytra convex; 17-18 pitted striae per elytron, intervals appear to have fused scales on the basal half of the elytron. Striae around the centre of the elytral disk typically vanished: striae faint apically. Humeral shoulders obtuse-rounded, with minor notches "teeth" on the margin; apices pointed. No dorsal or ventral pubescence. Ventral faces punctate; femora ventrally pitted.
