Description: body: ovate-robust, convex. Semi-glossy or matte black, well-defined elytral striation; 14-15 striae per elytron, dotted with small, green, squared pits. Pronotum punctate around margins, fully matte black, transverse-ovate, hind angles acute; pronotal margins thin, upturned. Scutellum exposed; basal margin of pronotum does not overlap the elytral base. Humeral angles of elytra obtuse, elytral lateral margins thin, upturned. Shape of elytral/abdominal section pentagonal. Intervals between striae matte black, covered in small murications, which look similar to fused reptile scales. Head narrow, long, vertex smooth, front of head with minor wrinkles. Antennal pubescence begins on the third antennomere after the pedicel. Antennae glossy black, ends of antennomeres clubbed. Palps black. Mandibles wide, long, matte black with minor dorsal wrinkles. Ventral colouration: glossy black, legs also glossy black.
