Description: body: elongate-ovate, somewhat robust. Dorsal colouration: pronotum matte black, nearly grey, pronotal margins dull green or blue. Elytra matte black, slightly glossy. 15-16 shallow, pitted striae per elytron; intervals covered in overlapping murication, which are visually similar to fused reptile scales. Elytral margins upturned slightly, apex pointed; humeral angles obtuse-rounded. Scutellum exposed; base of pronotum does not overlap the base of the elytra. Pronotum angular-cordate, hind angles obtuse-not rounded; front lateral margins round toward the head. Disk fairly smooth, slight wrinkles on top of the median line and around the dorsal base of the disk. Vertex of head sparsely punctate, front flatish, but elevated; rough. Mandibles broad, glossy black, with many dorsal wrinkles. Palps glossy black. Antennal details unaccounted for aside from known colouration: black. This is because unfortunately, the only specimen represented in our collection is almost entirely without its antennae. Ventral: legs glossy black, ventral faces fully glossy black.
