Description: body: elongate-ovate, semi-robust, weakly convex. Dorsal colouration varies: metallic gold or bronze, dull grey to matte blue-black with bronzed lateral elytral margins. Head triangular, not overly large; surface of the head smooth; two very small dimples on the frons that briefly continue onto the clypeus. Two setigerous fovea on the clypeus, one on each lateral margin. Labrum square, uniformly dark, partially obscuring mandibles. Eyes not reduced, bulging laterally; two supraorbital setae over each eye. Palpi dark. Mandibles strongly curved, with pointed tips: dark. Scapus, pedicel, and first following antennomere orange, the rest are dark. Antennal pubescence begins on the second antennomere following the pedicel (segment 4). Pronotum weakly convex, domed forward; front margin curved weakly inward; front angles obtuse; lateral margins rounded, sloped forward; hind angles squared; basal margin weakly sinuate. Entire pronotal margin thinly beaded. Median line thin; two short, vertical dimples on either side of the lower median bulge. Disk may appear to have minute cracks, otherwise smooth. Scutellum exposed. 8-9 striae per elytron; how deep or shallow the striae are varies from one population to another; intervals flatt or flattish. No elytral pubescence. Parascutellar pores present. Pronotal base should be as wide as the humeral shoulders; overlapping slightly onto the elytral base. Laterobasal ridges entire, straight, with a minor lip on the humeral shoulder angle. The ridges are typically obscured by the pronotal base. Humeral shoulders obtuse; lateral margins rounded, elongate; apices sinuate. Ventral colouration should be a darker reflection of the dorsal colouration often with an oily sheen. Legs oily greenish-black.
