Description: Body: elongate-ovate, moderately robust. Dorsal and ventral colouration should be piceous; legs and antennae should be slightly lighter in colour that the elytra; ventral faces may be piceous or black. Head elongate-triangular; black; smooth; eyes do not bulge strongly, weakly reduced in size; two long setae over each eye. Scapus and pedicel orange, pale antennal pubescence begins on the second half of the first antennomere following the pedicel. Mandibles piceous, palpi of a similar colouration. Pronotum semi-quadrate, rounded; front angles obtuse; lateral margins rounded; hind angles obtuse, rounded. Lateral beading entire, excluding the front margin. Median line shallow, with very small wrinkles around it; one large rough indent on either side of the lower median bulge. Elytra ovate; 7 deep striae per elytron, intervals flat; no additional pubescence or extra setae aside from those found on most carabids. Laterobasal ridges entire; scutellum exposed; humeral shoulders rounded-obtuse; lateral margins beaded, rounded; apices very weakly sinuous-truncate.
