Description: body: elongate-ovate, slender; head and pronotum may be metallic bronzish, red, pinkish, gold, and/or green, colours vary and may be mixed with some specimens; elytra dull metallic greenish or brown. Head triangular, face shortish, mandibles curved, palpi dark; antennae dark, with antennal pubescence beginning on the second antennomere following the pedicel. Eyes large, but rather close to the head, not bulging; surface of the head smooth; two long setae over each eye. Pronotum circular; lateral and hind margins round, hind angles round, front margin weakly curved inward; front angles acute. Lateral beading begin at the front angles, encircling the entire pronotal margin except for the front margin. Median line shallow, with minor wrinkles spanning out from it; the lower median bulge should have a large, rough indentation on either side of it. Disk mostly smooth. The base of the pronotum should not entirely obscure the elytral base. 7-8 shallow, but well-defined striae per elytron, intervals flat, no elytral pubescence. Laterobasal ridges entire; humeral shoulders obtuse; lateral margins rounded; apices rounded-sinuous. Typically capable of flight. Elytral interval 3 should have 3-4 small fovea which may or may not be touching the striae on either side of the interval. Ventral faces glossy black, as are the legs.
