Information: may be found running erratically across concrete-like surfaces, stone, gravel, and sandy soil on hot, sunny days; often hide in mosses.
Description: body: elongate-quadrate, slender. Body, dorsal and ventral faces, glossy silvery-black. Head fairly large compared to body size; wide, triangular. Head smooth, eyes fairly small, close to head. Antennae black, antennal pubescence begins on the first antennomere after the pedicel. Pronotum small, quadrate-triangular, hind angles pointed. 7-8 shallow striae per elytron, nearly absent. Elytral apices truncate, tip of abdomen protruding from underneath.
