Description: body: elongate-oblong, slender, flattish. Dorsal colouration is dark rufous to dark piceous, glossy. Legs and ventral faces generally semi-glossy orange or dark rufous. Head smooth dorsally, mandibles small, close to head, base of head weakly constricted. Eyes small, bulging laterally. Antennae dark reddish-brown; antennal pubescence begins on the first antennomere following the pedicel (segment 3). Labrum twice the length, not width, of the clypeus; lateral and anterior margins of the labrum opaque yellow. Pronotum elongate-oblong, slightly wider than width of elytra, constricted at base; anterior margins rounded inward slightly; anterior angles obtuse; lateral margins weakly sinuous; hind angles rounded, squarish; basal margin weakly rounded inward. Disk smooth, median line strong or faint; surface along the pronotal base explanate (flattened); lateral margins very thinly beaded. The base of the pronotum does not overlap the elytral base, leaving the scutellum exposed. 8 deep, well-defined striae per elytron, intervals flat. Humeral shoulders squarish, obtuse; lateral margins very weakly rounded; apices round. Elytral/abdominal region very long, slender.
