Description: body: elongate-oblong, moderately robust. Head slightly elongate, squarish; the surface of the head should be mostly smooth, in some individuals, slight "cracks" may be seen; eyes often heavily reduced in size, not bulging strongly; one supraorbital setae may be found over each eye. Two small dimples may be seen on the frons; clypeus as broad at the base as the width between either mandibular base; lateral margins slope forward; centre of the clypeus smooth, lateral dorsal regions rough. Labrum rectangular, fairly large; mandibles dark reddish, strongly curved; lower mouth parts pale. Pronotum about the same length as the head, though is as broad as the elytral shoulder width. Anterior pronotal margin curved inward; anterior angles obtuse, jutting forward; lateral margins weakly rounded or weakly sinuate; hind angles squared or nearly so; basal margin transverse. Lateral margins thinly beaded, anterior and basal margins thinly beaded or without beading. Median line typically weak, but may vary. The dorsal surface of the disk along the anterior margin should have longitudinal wrinkling, typically shallow. Centre of the disk more or less smooth; pronotal disk along the base should be heavily micropunctate, punctures shallow. Most of the scutellum should be visible, laterobasal ridges partially obscured by the pronotal base. Humeral shoulder obtuse; lateral margins weakly rounded; apices weakly sinuate or rounded. Ventral faces matte or metallic, usually a darker version o fthe dorsal colouration. Legs orange.
