Information: tend to prefer drier habitats, mostly nocturnal, come to porch and UV lights. Generally capable of flight.
Description: body: elongate-ovate, semi-broad. Body fully matte black. Head triangular, face short, eyes small, barley bulging. Lateral faces of, and dorsal face of head very finely rugopunctulate (very, very, finely wrinkled). Mandibles short, give the jaws an almost flat appearance when closed. Palps thin, orange. Antennae orange to piceous, antennal pubescence begins on the first antennomere after the pedicel. Pronotum as broad at base as base of elytra; hind angles squared, lateral margins proceed to curve towards head immediately; lateral margins thin, upturned, rounded. Front angles acute, ending just behind the eyes, hind angles sharp; squared. Most of disk smooth, matte black, dorsal faces around lateral and basal margins heavily punctate. Median line shallow, nearly absent. Base of pronotum overlaps the elytra base, mostly covering the scutellum. Elytral lateral margins somewhat wide, upturned. 8 deep striae per elytron, intervals slightly elevated. Ventral faces black, matte or glossy.
