Description: body: elongate-ovate, slender; subconvex. Body relatively short, head large, eyes small, reduced, not bulging much. Head shiny black, smooth, face relatively short. Mandibles not sharp, blunt-tips; curved, semi-glossy reddish-black, not slender. Labrum uniformly pale orange, occasionally with a small darker orange patch somewhere within. Palps very pale orange-yellow; all segments of the palpi should have a few pale setae on each, all shorter in length than those seen on the front of the labrum. Scapus and pedicel pale orange, rest of antennae brownish, dense antennal pubescence begins on the first antennomere following the pedicel. Pronotum transversely quadrate, lateral margins weakly rounded, upturned slightly, opaque pale orange. Basal margin weakly sinuate, hind angles squared, front angles very weakly acute. Median line weak, but visible, minor wrinkles fan out slightly from the median line. Disk glossy black, one slight depression on the dorsal interior of each of the two hind pronotal angles, both are rough. A number of sparse micropunctures may be seen along the dorsal base. Elytra semi-glossy to somewhat matte black. 8 thin striae per elytron, intervals flattish. Minor subbasal ridge present, humeral shoulders obtuse. Aside from regular setae found along the elytral margins in most harpalines, no elytral pubescence. Apices rounded, curve towards apices begins roughly halfway along the lateral margins. Flight wings typically well-developed. Front half of epipleura semi-glossy black, not iridescent, apical half reddish-brown. Ventral faces semi-glossy, nearly matte, black, tarsi and tibiae pale, tarsi more so.
