Description: body: elongate-oblong, moderately robust. Dorsal and ventral colouration should similarly be dark brown-red or pale reddish. Head squarish; dorsal surface of the head heavily pitted, all pits should be fairly large, and are setigerous. Eyes slightly reduced in size, bulging laterally somewhat. Clypeus narrower than the mandibular width, short, heavily pitted. Labrum rectangular; labrum of similar width to the clypeus, lateral margins may be faintly yellow. Mandibles short, very strongly curved, lateral margins squared, slightly rounded. Pronotum weakly convex, though flattish; anterior margin transverse; anterior angles obtuse; lateral margins thinly beaded; lateral margins rounded, narrowest at the base, at the broadest point (near the front of the pronotum) it is as wide as the humeral shoulder width. 9 well-defined striae per elytron, intervals flat near the centre of the disks, weakly elevated as they near the lateral margins. Elytral intervals sparsely pitted, setigerous, elytral setae long. Humeral shoulders obtuse; lateral margins beaded thinly; lateral margins weakly rounded; apices rounded. Ventral faces covered in scattered, long pubescence.
