Description: body: elongate-ovate, moderately robust. Head triangular, face short, dorsal surface of head smooth, head glossy dark reddish brown. Eyes strongly bulging laterally. Maxillary palps yellow, basal half of final segment brown, tips yellow. Antennomeres following the second after the pedicel should be cylindrical. Scapus short; scapus, pedicel, first following antennomere, and base of second following antennomere yellow, rest of antennae should be dark brown. Antennal pubescence white, beginning on the second half of the second antennomere following the pedicel. Pronotum smooth, glossy dark orange-brown, a few small punctures might be found on the basal margin. Median line weak, nearly absent. Front margin transverse; front angles obtuse; lateral margins sinuous; hind angles squared, with the lateral margin just above them parallel with each other, or nearly so; basal margin nearly transverse. Front and hind margins not beaded, lateral margins thinly beaded. Basal margin overlaps the elytral base, scutellum not visible. Elytra dark glossy reddish-brown, nearly black. First striation from the sutural margin should be deep, but incomplete, rest of striae may be either incomplete and shallow, or absent. Lateral margins weakly beaded; humeral shoulders obtuse, laterobasal ridges typically obscured by the pronotal base; lateral margins rounded-elongate; apices pointed. Elytra smooth. Ventral faces dark, glossy reddish-brown, legs orange.
