Information: may be found near waterways on muddy banks, or among muddy wetlands.
Description: body: elongate-ovate, slender. Head triangular, face long, dorsal surface of head smooth, head glossy dark reddish-black. Eyes small, bulging laterally. Maxillary palps yellow or orange. Scapus, pedicel, and base of first following antennomere yellow, rest of antenna dark brown. Antennal pubescence begins on the first antennomere following the pedicel. Pronotum rounded-quadrate. Front margin transverse; front angles obtuse; lateral margins rounded, broadest before the anterior(front) margin; hind angles rounded-obtuse; basal margin transverse. Lateral margins beaded. Median line well-defined, small impressions may be seen on the dorsal interior of the hind angles, dorsal surface along basal margin micropunctate. Pronotum glossy reddish-brown. Humeral shoulders rounded, apical margins rounded. 8 well-defined striae per elytron, intervals flat, semi-glossy or matte orange-brown. First interval from sutural margins of a lighter pigment than the rest of the elytra on mature adults. Humeral shoulders obtuse; lateral margins parallel; apices rounded. Ventral faces dark, glossy piceous, legs orange-brown.
