Description: body: elongate-oblong, slender, flattish. Dorsal colouration semi-glossy to dull black, or lustrous dark greenish-grey; ventral colouration semi-glossy black. Head squarish, face short; head mostly smooth, heavily micropunctate, including the clypeus; frons with two shallow dimples that briefly continue onto the clypeus. Labrum rectangular, lateral and anterior margins opaque orange; labrum smooth, black. Mandibles short, somewhat straight, close to the face. At least the scapus should be pale, on some individuals the pedicel is also pale. Two supraorbital setae over each eye; eyes not strongly bulging. Pronotum squarish; all margins weakly beaded; median line thin; dorsal base rough, as are all dorsal marginal regions. Front margin weakly curved inward, with a small median angle; front angles acute, nearly squared; lateral margins weakly sinuate; hind angles squared; base nearly transverse. Humeral shoulders slightly broader than the pronotal base; 8 thin, but well-defined striae per elytron, intervals flattish. Humeral shoulders obtuse, laterobasal ridge entire, transverse; lateral margins nearly prallel; apices rounded, very weakly sinuate. Very sparse, short preapical pubescence should be present.
