Seasonality: Most active from April to September
Distribution; Southern United States and Mexico, with various subspecies scattered throughout Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Belize, and in a number of areas within the West Indies.
Information: Capable of flight, like many Galerita, this species may be attracted to outdoor lights, UV traps, or mercury vapour traps.
Description: Body elongate-ovate, slender. Antennae, palps, pronotum and prothorax, as well as limbs entirely light orange. Occiput extends out from the pronotum, head and elytra black; elytra sparsely covered with pale setae, scape and pedicel fully coated in a layer of thick setae. Each elytron should have eight evenly spaced striae, may possess a hint of blue when viewed under lights at some angles. Pronotal disk narrowly hexagonal, corners of basal region of lateral margins slightly upturned.
