Information:
This small beetle is very common. It can be located via a UV light or pealing of bark. They are often seen feeding in large groups on fungus under bark.
Description: Body; Elongate oblong, dark grey to black with 4 large orange spots one at each of the elytral apexes and one at each of the elytral tips. Appendages brown to light orange, tarsal formula 4-4-4. Antennae often lighter than legs, 11 segmented with a 2-segment club. Pronotum; Square, with a single rectangular raised portion in the middle. Lateral margins appear slightly serrate. Elytra with many shallow striations, punctures and small setae. Ventral surface black and covered in many small punctures.
