Information: A.pugetanus can be found running around or resting upon/under stones and gravel, sandy substrates, mostly along rivers and streams, but has been collected from sidewalks and parking lots.
Description: body: elongate-oblong, slender. Body, dorsal and ventral faces, glossy silvery-bronze. Head slightly narrower than pronotum, triangular. Head smooth, slight wrinkles around the eyes; eyes not overly large, close to head. Face short, mandibles small. Antennae black, antennal pubescence begins on the first antennomere after the pedicel. Pronotum semi-cordate, base constricted, curving outwards from top of constricted region, then back towards the head. Hind angles obtuse, pronotum about the same dimensions as the head; pronotum widest at apical margin. Front pronotal angles acute, margins rounding inwards towards head slightly. Pronotal lateral margins thin, not well-defined, but slightly upturned. Median line shallow, minor wrinkles fan out towards margins from median line. Abdominal/elytral regions elongate-truncate. 8 striae per elytron, intervals flat, striae dotted with evenly spaced fovea, giving the lines a minor zig-zag appearance. Elytral apices truncate, tip of abdomen protruding barely from underneath elytra. Humeral angeles squared, rounded off. Ventral faces glossy bronzish-black, legs glossy black. Body relatively flat.
