WHAT IS RIVER TREKKING?
River Trekking, or Water Trekking, is an exciting activity where the river's water replaces the trail of traditional hiking. This outdoor activity combines a passion for walking with the thrill of water.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THIS ACTIVITY?
The route is suitable for everyone as long as they are in good health (individuals with cardiovascular problems, high blood pressure, asthma, or cold urticaria should avoid this activity), have a minimum level of physical activity, and are not afraid of water.

You can book online (reservation mandatory) on the "Book now" page. After clicking the "BOOK NOW" button, a form will open to fill out with the information of all participants. After receiving the filled form, we will send a booking confirmation to your email, WhatsApp, or SMS.
Note: Payment must be made on-site directly to the guide before the activity begins. Mountain Surfers Italy does not act as an intermediary and does not receive any compensation.
What is the minimum age to participate?
The minimum age to participate is 14 years old. Participation for minors is allowed only if accompanied by a parent or another authorized responsible adult.
WHO IS THIS EXPERIENCE FOR?
This experience, conducted in both Italian and English, is aimed at individuals, couples, families, or groups of friends who want to discover River Trekking, try a new experience, or simply enjoy a refreshing and relaxing adventure in nature.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN PARTICIPATE?
To ensure a more immersive and authentic experience, greater safety, better group harmony, and minimize the impact on the environment, the maximum number of participants is limited to 10 people (based on the availability of neoprene sock sizes). The minimum number of participants is 5.
How much does it cost to participate?
The total cost is 25 euros per person (adult) and 20 euros for minors. The cost also includes equipment.
What time does the activity start and how long does it last?
The meeting point is at 10:30 AM at Piazza Sanità in Caposele. From there, we will drive to the starting point of the activity. After putting on the equipment and briefing, the activity will start at 11:30 AM and will last approximately 1 hour and a half.
Where can I park?
You can park on the side of the road near the trailhead that will take us to the river.
IS EQUIPMENT PROVIDED?
Helmets, neoprene socks, short leg and sleeve wetsuits, dry bag (waterproof bag upon request), and flotation aids (upon request) will be provided.
WHAT CLOTHING SHOULD I WEAR?
It is mandatory to wear sneakers with a ridged sole (not smooth) or hiking boots suitable for getting wet. Also, wear a swimsuit, bring a towel, and a spare set of dry underwear and footwear.
How high is the water along the route?
Along the route, the water is almost always knee-high. In some sections, it reaches over a meter in height.
Is the water cold?
Yes, the water temperature is about 10 degrees Celsius, so it's necessary to wear booties and a wetsuit to engage in the activity.
Are there fountains nearby?
No, but you can get water from the fountain in Piazza Sanità, where our meeting point will be. We recommend bringing at least half a liter of water.
Is it possible to eat before the activity?
We recommend eating easily digestible food at least a couple of hours before the activity to avoid potential discomfort due to the cold water. IT IS ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN TO CONSUME ALCOHOL BEFORE THE ACTIVITY.
ARE THERE BENEFITS TO PRACTICING THIS ACTIVITY?
Yes, cold water activates the self-healing abilities of our bodies, alleviating symptoms of many conditions and promoting greater well-being. Practicing this activity in cold water can lead to reduced stress, increased relaxation and happiness, and long-term improvements in our immune, lymphatic, circulatory, and digestive systems, resulting in a better quality of life.
IS THERE INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR PARTICIPANTS?
Since we have found that not all participants prefer having injury insurance included in the total cost of the activity, we leave it to each individual to purchase their own sports insurance if desired.
Who accompanies the group?
The technical organization and execution of the activity are carried out and are the responsibility of local professional guides with professional liability insurance coverage.
What responsibility does Mountain Surfers Italy have?
Mountain Surfers Italy is solely responsible for promoting the event/activity.
