Below you will find the climate groups of the New York Capital Region. Some of these groups are solely dedicated to the climate issue, others address climate as one of many issues they are concerned with.
Capital Area Climate Network is a listserv that provides a single-stroke way to contact many climate leaders from the various climate organizations of the NYS Capital Region.
Community Advocates for Sustainable Environment and Stop New York Fracked Gas Pipeline (CASE/SNYFGP) fights against new fossil fuel infrastructure and promotes the development of renewable energy.
Citizens' Climate Lobby in the Capital Region is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that is focused on carbon fee and dividend carbon pricing (HR763) as a bipartisan solution to the climate crisis.
Citizen Action, Capital Region, is a grassroots membership organization that works for economic, racial, environmental and social justice. We combine local grassroots organizing with a statewide campaign around climate justice called NY Renews.
City of Albany Office of Sustainability
The Office of Sustainability is responsible for advancing the climate and sustainability goals of the City of Albany. Their work involves everything from transitioning to clean energy to outreach to planning for the electrification of the city’s fleet and more. Concerned with both city operations and the community as a whole, the Office of Sustainability works to ensure that the future of Albany is a sustainable one.
City of Albany Sustainability Committee
Established in 2013 by the City Council, the Sustainability Advisory Committee (SAC) is dedicated to advancing sustainability practices and uniting action on climate change within Albany. The SAC collaborates to shape a greener future for Albany by promoting energy efficiency, environmental conservation, and sustainable living. Community volunteers are always welcome - you don’t have to be appointed to help!

NY Renews works closely with local groups and is a coalition of nearly 200 environmental, justice, faith, labor and community groups in NY. We fight for good jobs, environmental justice, 100% clean and renewable energy, and worker protection.
People of Albany United for Safe Energy is an affiliate of 350.org. PAUSE is a grassroots group that engages the public to stop the fossil fuel industry’s assault on Albany's environment.

Third Act Upstate mobilizes “elders” to use our time, resources, and life skills for two immense objectives: to end the era of fossil fuel and to protect our democracy. Third Act partners with local climate and democracy groups throughout upstate New York State … and, we make “good trouble” of our own.
