Principal Investigator
Dr. Aderonke Sakpere, a Senior Lecturer of Computer Science at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin in 2004 and 2009 respectively, and a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Her research areas span Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Data Privacy, ICT for Development, and Educational Technology, specifically how digital technology can be used to enhance students’ academic performance. She currently serve as the co-chair of the 4th African Human-Computer Interaction Conference (AfriCHI 2023), a continental gathering of professionals and academics alike who are motivated to build solutions that enhance people’s interactions with digital technology, in Africa and the world at large.
In her 10+ years working as a professor and researcher, she has earned numerous honors, grants, and awards which include Google ExploreCSR Award, TechWomen Fellowship, MIT Empowering The Teachers Fellowship, Selected Young Scientist by Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, Top 200 Young Researcher by Heidelberg Laureate Foundation (HLF), Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) Fellowship, Cambridge University Travel Grant, Klaus Tschira Stiftung Travel Grant, among others.
As a technical mentor, she founded the Tech Girls Club to foster networking and interaction among females in technology, primarily those at the University of Ibadan. She is also a co-founder of the Lindau Mentoring Hub hosted by Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings in Germany. In 2021, she served as a Consultant/Research Assistant with a digital innovation company named Qhala, on a Wikimedia Foundation.
Co-Principal Investigator
He holds a teaching position with the College of Computing & Communication Studies, Bowen University, Iwo, Nigeria and as well, a Research Fellow at Computing and Analytics Research Laboratory. Dr. Aworinde is currently the Director of Digital Services at Bowen University and as well, serve on several committees in the university.
His research can be broadly summarized into four thrusts: pattern recognition, Deep Learning frameworks for social good, AI-driven smart farming and Mechanism Design-based Security Game Models.
He is a recipient of several awards such as Google Travel Grant, Two times Visiting Scientist Position at ICTP, Trieste - Italy, Best Poster Award Poster at the 2022 Deep Learning Indaba held at Tunis, Tunisia, 8th HLF Young Research Award amongst several others.
Mentor
Rob has had the opportunity to work in a wide variety of CS areas, including distributed systems, high performance computing, e-commerce, video games, machine learning and most recently climate simulation and geo data analysis. In many of his roles, he has mentored others who were earlier in their careers, and he enjoys sharing his passion for discovery with others.

Research Assistant
She is a final year student of Computer science at the prestigious University of Ibadan. Currently mastering her Frontend Development skills
Previously worked as a Product Manager at a startup driven towards ensuring sustainable change in the Nigerian community, especially at the Grass-root levels. Also serves as team lead at Tech Girls Club because of her passion to help young girls and women navigate their way through building a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
In November 2020, her team came first place under the Innovative product category in the Geo-hackathon for providing a solution to waste management and flooding in Ibadan, Nigeria. She is always looking for ways to solve world problems using technology and is open to collaborating and working with teams driven towards achieving that and more.
Research Assistant
He is a final-year Computer Science student at the prestigious Bowen University and a passionate product designer. With over five years of experience spanning science, art, technology, media, and entertainment, he specializes in product design, graphics, content creation, brand development, project management, and web frontend development.
Believing in the transformative power of product design to address global challenges, he has collaborated with notable companies such as Carnelian Stone Media, Kuda, and Tecno Mobile NG amongst others. He is a UI/UX designer at Stranerd, an edTech startup, and co-founder of Pixma Academy, a design community supporting aspiring UI/UX designers.
He is also the Program/Community Manager of Bowen Tech Hub, deeply committed to the intersection of technology, design, and innovation. His role at the Hub keeps him engaged with industry trends and enables him to share knowledge and mentor the next generation of tech enthusiasts.
