Mr. Lozano is in his ninth year as Director of Bands at Canyon Springs High School, where he leads a comprehensive instrumental music program centered on musical excellence, student growth, and community engagement. Under his direction, the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band have consistently earned Unanimous Superior Ratings at SCSBOA festivals, while the Canyon Springs Marching Band continues to see growing success recently placing in the top five at the 2025 SCSBOA 4A Division Championships and placing 1st in Class C at the Arcadia Band Review. The Winter Percussion and Color Guard programs have both been WGASC Championships medalists, reflecting sustained excellence across all performance ensembles.
Mr. Lozano is dedicated to providing students with meaningful, high-level musical experiences beyond the classroom. Canyon Springs ensembles under his leadership have performed at prestigious events including the WorldStrides National Heritage Festival, earning a First Place Gold Rating and Outstanding Band Award, the 2024 WorldStrides Festival of Gold at Davies Symphony Hall, and the 2nd Annual La Sierra University Wind Ensemble Festival, where students collaborated with world-renowned composer Frank Ticheli. The marching band proudly represented Canyon Springs High School at the 2024 National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C., and the Wind Ensemble will make its debut performance at Carnegie Hall in March 2026.
In recognition of his leadership and service to music education, Mr. Lozano was awarded the 2023 Dr. William P. Foster Community Development Award by the Music Education Alliance at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, named Canyon Springs High School Teacher of the Year for 2025–2026, and selected as the 2026 Outstanding High School Educator Award by the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Single Subject Teaching Credential from San Diego State University.
Beyond the classroom, Mr. Lozano remains an active performer and advocate for music education. He performs on clarinet and bass clarinet with the Moreno Valley Wind Symphony under the direction of Mr. Paul Bluto and currently serves on the Board for the California Band Directors Association. His professional affiliations include the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association, the California Music Education Association, and the National Association for Music Education. Above all, Mr. Lozano is committed to cultivating a welcoming, inclusive band program that serves as a second home for students, one that challenges them musically while fostering collaboration, respect, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
Jonny Green is a Canyon Springs High School alumni and has actively participated in the marching arts for more than a decade as a performer, educator, designer, and bass drum specialist.
His performance experience includes the Velvet Knights, the RCC Marching Tigers, Pulse Percussion Open, Pulse Percussion, and the Santa Clara Vanguard. Jonny has also had the incredible opportunity to be featured as a musician on the hit television shows "Glee" and "Parks and Recreation". He was a member of the 40 person snare line featured with DJ Steve Angelo at Coachella 2017 and toured Europe as a founding member of Top Shelf Brass Band .
As an educator and designer, Jonny has worked with numerous high schools and independent programs across Southern California. He had the privilege of working with a phenomenal educational team as a battery technician at the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps from 2014-2019. He has also worked as a bass drum technician at Pulse Percussion from 2019-2020 and has been a featured clinician at the TAMUC percussion camp at Texas A&M Commerce. Jonny currently works with Canyon Springs High School, Patriot High School, Arlington High School, and the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps. Jonny is proudly an Innovative Percussion educational artist.
