Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
Canty’s arrival/dismissal procedures minimize, as much as possible, congregation and intermingling of staff and students. Canty is implementing the following strategies: multiple entrances, staggered start times, and escorting students directly to classrooms by teachers.
All 3rd grade Homerooms will now line up at Door 2 (on Panama...the gym doors) from 7:50-8:00am. We will pick up students to enter the building at 8:00.
Line Up Guidelines for Arrival:
Please do not drop your child off prior to 7:50 am. Our inclement weather location is the gym and will ONLY be used if windchill is below -15 degrees or if there is torrential rain.
Students should “gather” near the steps by door 2 within the time window scheduled of 7:50-8:00am. Staff will be there to help them line up.
Teachers will escort students to the classroom one homeroom at a time.
Students who arrive late to school must go to door 1 and maintain a three foot distance. Students will have a tardy processed in Aspen and will join their classroom.
Guidelines for departure:
All 3rd grade homerooms will depart the same door we entered. We will exit Door 2 on Panama at 3:00 pm.
There is no loitering after school: students should go immediately home.
If your child is not picked up, the child will be escorted to door 1 (the main entrance) for pickup. Students will not be allowed to re-enter the building, except for -15 degree windchill or torrential rain.
