Canterbury & District Neighbourhood Watch Association (C&DNHWA) provides support and advice to NHW schemes across much of East Kent, including Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay and the many villages which fall within the Canterbury City Council administrative area. 

IMPORTANT NOTICE

At the Association's EGM held on 2 December 2023 Members approved Dissolution of the organisation.  The Committee have now competed the process of executing the Membership's mandate to permanently close the Association down.  As of 6th February 2024 C&DNHWA was permanently closed and de-registered and removed from the Chrity commission's listings. 

The Association served NHW groups across the Canterbury area for nearly 18 years.  The loss of it, caused by an inability to find new Committee members willing to devote sufficient time to support the running of the organisation, is very sad.  NHW in the Canterbury area will never-the-less continue by virtue of individual schemes, for so long as their respective coordinators are willing to run them.  The Committee wish them all well for the future.

The information contained on this site is primarily designed to assist, support and encourage local NHW scheme coordinators but it also serves to inform potential new members of the benefits that can be achieved through membership and formation of new NHW schemes.  Our website contains policy and guidance documents to assist coordinators, and also news items to help inform members about current issues of interest / importance within the world of security and community safety.  Individual pages, covering many different topics, can be accessed from the scroll down list at the ‘More Pages’ icon on this page.
