In psychological theory, the phenomenon of profound loss felt by parents due to separation from children is usually called Empty Nest Syndrome. Empty Nest Syndrome refers to the pressure, sadness, and/or sorrow experienced by parents because their children leave home as adults or settle down. This feeling is often considered natural for parents to feel because they love their children. Similarly, children who see the occurrence of this syndrome as a sense of proclamation between the attachment of parents with their feelings towards the distance. The attachment to this case makes me think that the emotional bond formed between a child and his parents is very specific and makes us feel like we have a connection to space and time. What’s interesting about this phenomenon is that when the distance that makes us bound to our parent is substituted with objects that represent the mother or father. Several interviews have been carried out, and several objects have emerged as sentimental spaces for informants as children, including theses, cigarettes, barbie dolls, cellphones, etc. In this work, I try to invite you to peek for a moment at their close attachment that they are just sharing with us, about the longing for mothers and fathers who have special meaning for this life.
