Light's in Our Life

Life is a tragic story of good verses evil. Many people give into the darkness and snuff out their light. I almost did. Life got complicated and dark. A downward spiral of depression and loneliness set in. I turned off all the connections to people in my life because the people that I loved most sought to make it hurt. I was trying to protect myself from the pain of loss because if I didn’t have anyone or anything, what could I lose?

Life is full of loss, whither we seclude ourselves or not. We live in constant self-doubt about our own abilities to shake off the sins of our fathers. Our own lights begin to fade as we see the weight of the world on our shoulders, a responsibility we shall not bear. We begin to believe we are not worthy of the fight. There is not enough light within me to go another step. I am not like them. I am not good enough to climb the steepest mountains of life.

We cling to an ideal we never can reach. The raging fire of those we try to emulate seems so far off. Life could never be this challenging for them, so why bother. Yes, they have accomplished much, but if they had what I have then they would not have done it. They could not have overcome the dark abyss of hell I live in today. Well maybe not... maybe they could not overcome my life. They overcame theirs. They started with a light just as small as me. Life provided them opportunities to spread their power and light. They are dangerous and infectious people, dividing their light and truth with those they serve. That’s the best kind of light, light that is dangerous but controlled; living on the edge of chaos and order.

The goal of Candlelight Corp. is to help people who, like me, are seeking direction, inspiration, and peace. Life is full of challenges and trials. It is up to us to find meaning in the darkness. It is in the depths of deepest despair that we find our true character and natures. If we can master that, focusing on the future, we can increase our light, becoming brighter and brighter.
