Candis Haak is an Assistant Professor of Digital Humanities and a South Asian Specialist at the State University of New York, Oswego, of the History Department. She is interested in developing interdisciplinary methodologies for the investigation of religious materiality and the corporeal experience of South Asian medieval sacred landscapes.

Haak was trained as archaeologist at the University of Toronto for her Bachelor of Arts (BA with Honors, 2007), then the University College of Dublin for her Masters (Archaeology: Landscape Stream, 2008), and then back to the University of Toronto for her PhD (Department of Anthropology, 2018).
