FOCUS AND SCOPE
The Canadian Art Teacher/Enseigner les arts of Canada (CAT) is peer-reviewed and/or peer mentored and published semi-annually by the Canadian Society for Education through Art (CSEA/SCEA). The goal of the journal is to enable the exchange of exciting teaching ideas, to disseminate novel art education research, and to discuss pertinent issues in the field. Readers and contributors include artists, educators, and researchers interested in teaching and learning in the visual arts.
La revue Enseigner les arts au Canada/Canadian Art Teacher est une revue électronique en libre accès, elle est évaluée par les pairs et publiée deux fois par année par la Société canadienne d’éducation par l’art(CSEA/SCEA). Le but de la revue est de faciliter les échanges de projets pédagogiques
emballants, de disséminer de nouvelles recherches en éducation de l’art, et discuter des questions pertinentes dans ce domaine. Les contributions sont rédigées et lues par des artistes, le personnel du milieu de l’éducation et des chercheurs/chercheuses intéressé.e.s par l'enseignement de l'art.
REVIEW PROCESS
Canadian Art Teacher is interested to hear and share perspectives about Art Education from a range of voices and opinions. In order to facilitate this, we offer an inclusive publishing experience with 2 different pathways to support your publishing experience, knowledge, and goals.
PUBLICATION FREQUENCY
The Canadian Art Teacher is published semi-annually. Articles will be published collectively, as part of an issue with its own Table of Contents.
OPEN ACCESS POLICY
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
SUBMISSION POLICY
In general, CAT publishes a submission from one first/lead author per journal issue. This ensures that many and diverse author voices are represented in the journal at one time.
ETHICAL POLICY
Unbiased consideration is given to all manuscripts offered for publication regardless of the race, gender, religious belief, ethnicity, citizenship, political philosophy, sexual orientation, age, or reputation of the authors.
ANTI-PLAGARISM POLICY
This journal is created with integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness. We expect responsible action and are accountable and transparent to our readers, to our community of art educators and to one another. Therefore this journal strictly opposes plagiarism, copyright or other intellectual property infringement.
To avoid plagiarised submissions, during the submission process, submitting authors are required to confirm that they are aware of and agree to CAT's anti- plagiarism policy. Submitting authors are advised to only submit their own original research manuscripts/papers.

They are the sole author or the lead author entrusted to provide consent to the Canadian Art Teacher to publish the article.
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
The research confirms to ethics protocols as required by the author's home/institution/funder, and all consents have been secured to allow this research to be published.
All use of generative AI during the development of the article submitted is acknowledged
Full copyright responsibility to secure permissions for all images in the article submitted has been secured in advance of publication, with copies provided as necessary to the editor of the Canadian Art Teacher Journal.
They will assume responsibility for any copyright infringement resulting from the publication of this article and acknowledge that their article will be published in a digital version and published online.
