Before 9/11, this location held the Twin Towers which were offices in New York City. They were the tallest building in the world, at the time.
On 9/11, the Twin Towers were attacked and hit by two planes, inevitably causing the fall of the tower and the loss of many lives.
This location currently holds the two reflecting pools, with the 9/11 museum and New World Trade Center nearby.
In 1970 and 1971 the North and South Towers were completed. [8]
February 26, 1993 a bomb exploded in the parking garage of the North tower. [1]

In 2013, 4 World Trade Center was the first building completed on the original WTC site. [5]
In 2014, 3 World Trade Center started construction and was finished in 2018. [5]
The 9/11 Reflecting Pools sit in the then basement of those buildings. Under the pools is the 9/11 memorial and museum with memories and objects from the building themselves. This is where the New World Trade Center stands.
