Elections
US Senate
34 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate are up for regular election, to begin six year Class III terms in 2023.
In addition, two special elections are scheduled:
One to fill the final four years of Senator Jim Inhofe's (R-OK), after his resignation effective January 3, 2023.
One to fill the final weeks of Kamala Harris' (D-CA) term. This seat is also up for regular election.
US House of Representatives
The seats of all 435 representatives in the House of Representatives will be up for election to two year terms. The seats of five of the six non-voting members of the U.S. House will be up for election as well.
Additionally, a total of 12 special elections have been/will be held to fill current vacancies.
State Governors
There are 36 state governor seats on the ballot in 2022: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Three U.S. territories are also holding gubernatorial elections in 2022: Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Choose a local race that will be decided in the 2022 midterm elections.
Research the candidates in the race, highlighting their backgrounds and stances on at least three issues.
Compare local polling (if available) with what was stated in the video clips above or with national polling.
Using the information gathered, determine which candidate will most likely win the contest and why.
Prepare a presentation to share your findings with the class.
