28 March - Dvorak Piano Quintet
CMS favourite pianist Ke Lin joins forces with New South Wales-based Acacia String Quartet to present Dvorak’s ever-popular Piano Quintet in A major, Op 81. Widely acknowledged as one of the chamber masterpieces of the Romantic era, Dvorak’s expressively lyrical quintet is imbued with all the song and dance characteristics of Czech folk music that will have you tapping your toes and wanting to burst into song.

12 September - Seraphim Trio
Seraphim Trio is as much a lifelong friendship as a chamber ensemble. Formed in Adelaide in 1995 Seraphim have established themselves as one of Australia’s most celebrated and versatile ensembles, and in 2019 were awarded an Aria Award for Best Classical Album for the recording Thirteen ways to look at Birds. Helen Ayres (violin), Tim Nankervis (cello) and Anna Goldsworthy (piano) are renowned for their flagship concert series and recordings, regional touring and educational workshops. Tonight they present Tchaikovsky’s towering Piano Trio in A minor (1881-82), written in Rome and subtitled ‘to the memory of a great artist’.

14November - Sophie Rowell and Kristian Chong
Sophie Rowell and Kristian Chong are two renowned and much-loved Australian musicians who have performed together often over many years. Both born in Adelaide, Concert Violinist Sophie is Artistic Director of the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, and Associate Professor of Violin at the University of Melbourne; Kristian is one of Australia’s leading solo and chamber pianists, and also teaches piano and chamber music at the University of Melbourne. They present a thrilling program featuring duo Sonatas of Beethoven and Mozart.
