With unit 0 being the beginning of coursework, I was a tad bit nervous only because I was not sure what to expect, I wasn't sure if i was necessarily prepared enough but while completing unit 0's assignments none of it was hard at all, in fact some of the information i was learning I already knew prior to and if I did'nt know the information it was still refreshing to learn something new.
WHAT DID I DO?
Setup a notebook, where I can now track my handwritten notes.
Observed brightspace.
Started up SIMnet and completed SIMpaths.
Constructed a professional email directed to my professor.
I learned how to create a rules in my email, this could help keeping certain files in my school email organized.
I learned what the terms "hamburger", "waffle" and "breadcrumb trail" mean. Before i had no recollection of these terms.
I learned how crucial it is when sending an email to add the topic of said email in your subject, to be honest I fail with remembering to do this! but if I have an important email that i need someone to see its vital to add a subject so my email does not get overlooked.
ARTIFACT
The most interesting thing I learned was creating a signature file, before I did not use one and did not even know how to create one, also I didn't understand the importance of one, but now I am aware of how much easier it is for your emails to have a signature , typically when emailing someone you might need their contact information and there is a back and forth conversation on getting it but with your contact info including your phone number, email and maybe even fax number it just makes it way more easier for someone to communicate with you.
REFLECTION
Unit 0 somewhat started out with the basics but everything in this unit was very informative. If I had'nt learned some of these simple rules I could do miserably on a professional email or if I were to work in an office setting, some of this may have been already expected for me to know how to do.
