It's a critique of humanism
capitalism critique : the society is capitalist, not the possibility to critique it because we all are implicated in it (thechnocapitalistic society), unprecedented wealth as well unprecedented inequality. Also a destruction of life forms at an unprecedented rate (the main cause of the Sixth Mass Extinction Event)
technology critique :
ecology critique : we destroy the physical biosphere bc of industrialization of society every country
using that capacity to thinking to question humanism `can you question the thechnocapitalistic society ? is not that easy because we are implacated
Posthumanism critiques humanist ideals, revealing how aspirations such as fraternity, equality, and universal freedom often fall short. In our contemporary global technocapitalist society, genuine autonomy, particularly the freedom to think independently, is challenged. This is because the technocapitalist production regime inundates us with complex technological systems, often leaving us unaware of their workings and their impact on us.
Posthumanism does not disagree with this idea. However, they claim that in the contemporary world we fall short of this ideal and they explore in what ways and in what areas of life we fail to live up to this ideal. They argue that we are actually not that free and, what is worse, we are not really aware of how unfree we are. In the case of technology, for instance, we are immersed in a technological milieu but we do not have any idea how this milieu functions. How can we talk about freedom when we do not know how the technocapitalist society and all its products really work in shaping our identity and values? Also, they feel like human beings are not that special in any respect, but we didn't discuss that aspect much.
