With acting, I have learned that it is a wonderful thing to step outside your comfort zone and expand your range. I was taught acting from the start as portraying real events and real people, mainly in a realism style. However, in the production of Sideways Stories From Wayside School, Directed by Bethany Corey-Eiken, becoming a teacher that gets possessed by an evil teacher to dump pickle brine on a student isn't a very realistic situation. So by acting in a different style such as magical realism, helps bring this children's story into real life.

In the Effect I was part of the ensemble that portrayed patients and scientists in the experiment. Even with no lines, we had to create a story with movement and create an character that didn't have a certain identity. The scientists and patients were ment to be only figures with a certain mystery to them.
