Since the beginning of time, the four clans have wandered the world. We have followed the seasons and the stars, walking the winding path, rising and falling with the sun and the moon. Ours is the way of wood, stone, dirt, bone. All that we need, the land provides: food, water, warmth, shelter. This is the Way of the Wandering Spirit. But now we fear our Way is in danger. They came from far beyond the sea, in great numbers, with Ways different from our own. They do not know the Way of the Wandering Spirit, but think the land is something to control. They make strange dwellings and remain where they are, rigid and stagnant. With tools and weapons that shine like the sun, they cleave the land, until it is exhausted. Day after day they toil in fields, even when they have more than they need. Ever since they came, forests have fallen, rivers have run dry, and the very earth has been torn open. Our friends have fallen ill, and the spirits have fled. Now we must protect all that we hold dear. We must protect our Way.

Wanderway employs the FATE Accelerated role-playing system, abbreviated as FAE. Our world and its gameplay system revolve around collaboration and crafting engaging narratives with you and your companions. We recommend a group of 2-4 players and one Game Master (GM) for the best experience. This system is designed to be straightforward and beginner friendly while offering dynamic and immersive role-playing encounters.
Following is a breakdown of the materials required to play:
• A standard six-sided die
• Writing materials, such as pens and paper, for note-taking.
• Blank Fate character creation sheets, which can be found at the end of the book or can be printed/created independently.
Alternatively, you can use the provided premade character sheets, especially if you’re new to the game.
In lieu of Fate’s usual system—Fudge dice—Wanderway makes use of a dice set which skews more positively. This promotes more success based gameplay, with the caveat of greater emphasis on consequences in the event of failure. When attempting an action, roll one d6. You may then add your Approach modifiers from your character sheet and items. The sum total after this processconstitutes your final roll.
