necessary materials

For all ensemble rehearsals everyone will need:

• A pencil

• A folder or binder for music

• Instrument

• Tradition of Excellence, Book 2 (Blue) for your instrument

• Water is optional, but strongly recommended

Woodwinds will need:

• Correctly sized reeds (at least 3 at all times) for clarinets, saxophones, oboe, and bassoon

• Cleaning swab for clarinets, saxophones, oboe, and bassoon

• Cleaning rod for flutes

• Cork Grease, if applicable

Brass will need:

• Valve oil

• Slide grease for trombones

• A small spray bottle with water is encouraged for trombones

Percussionists will need:

• Individual Stick Bag

• 1 Pair of Wood Tipped Drum Sticks (Vic Firth SD2 or any brand 5A recommended for concert snare)

• 1 Pair of Hard Plastic Glockenspiel/Xylophone Mallets

• 1 Pair of Medium Timpani Mallets

• Note: Auxiliary mallets will be provided for bass drum, chimes, tam tam, etc.
