Samantha is a lifelong horsewoman with over 25 years of hands-on experience in equine care, handling, and horsemanship education in a wide range of environments. Her path into horses began at a saddleseat farm, where "helping" after lessons turned into working there. Over time, her experience grew to include working with draft horses alongside joust troops, the saddleseat show world, and supporting large herd management in a 24/7 turnout free-range setting.
Samantha specializes in equine nutrition and equine rehabilitation, including the identification and support of physical, behavioral, and neurological imbalances. While Cambria’s residency options do not include rehabilitative treatment plans, Samantha’s specialization informs the standard of care across the farm. Changes in movement, behavior, or demeanor are noticed early and thoughtfully evaluated rather than dismissed as normal.
Her experience includes supporting horses through neurological recovery (including EPM), systemic and environmental challenges such as anhidrosis and debilitating allergies, physical concerns including kissing spine, navicular syndrome, and hind-end and core rehabilitation, and behavioral patterns such as reactivity, pushiness, and impatience. Nutrition is evaluated as part of the whole picture as what a horse eats directly impacts how they feel, move, and behave. Small changes often carry big meaning and taking them seriously is what separates attentive care from adequate care. When additional support is needed, Samantha maintains a trusted network of professionals including a sport horse veterinarian specializing in lameness and experienced providers in training, bodywork, chiropractic care, and equine physical therapy.
Patience is central to her philosophy. Horses do not operate on human timelines, and meaningful progress cannot be rushed. Samantha approaches horse health by blending western medicine with alternative therapies where appropriate and recognizes that the best outcomes often come from knowing when to use what. Her goal is always a well-balanced, supported, happy, healthy, and comfortable horse no matter the human's wants or needs.
Samantha runs horsemanship education programs for adults and children with a focus on helping people understand how to safely, effectively, and thoughtfully work with horses.
Professionally, Samantha is an operations executive, serving as Vice President of Client Development for an international software company, and owner of an operations consulting firm where she also creates educational systems. She has also worked in animal rescue and spent a decade in property management overseeing multimillion-dollar assets. She is also a photographer specializing in natural outdoor portraiture for people and horses. Her unique breadth of experience translates into a farm that is modern, efficiently run, and meticulously managed.
Samantha's husband, Michael, is the heavy lifter at the farm, dedicating his free time to projects, repairs, and improvements for both humans and horses. He is an invaluable partner in building a place where both animals and people feel supported. Away from the farm, Michael is an accomplished educator teaching Civics, AP Government, AP Macroeconomics, and AP European History, and serves as his school's track and cross-country coach. Running is his passion and in his spare time he trains for and runs marathons.
Samantha and Michael are parents to two boys, Connor (12) and Callan (8). Connor lends a hand to farm operations with horsemanship maturity beyond his years. Like his mom, he started in saddleseat, competing locally and at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala. Callan may love soccer a little more than horses overall, but he's completely smitten with his own horse and brings his levity and light to the farm in equal measure.
