As part of our herd, you can expect:
A calm farm where you'll often have the property to yourself or share it with just one or two others at a time. We are designed for quiet routines and focused time with your horse (unless our two sons are out in force, of course!)
A small, hands-on environment where we're familiar with what's normal for each horse and notice when something changes. We keep a maximum of six horses on the property, allowing us to stay on top of each horse's personality, history, and well-being.
Reliable daily care with all horses checked carefully, kept clean and comfortable, and cared for with the same attention every day, so owners can step away without worry.
Care based on experience and best practices where day-to-day decisions are made with long-term harmony, comfort, and mental well-being of all who call our farm home in mind.
Practical, full-spectrum support that promotes well-rounded horses, including consistent handling guidance and the thoughtful sharing of trusted resources and horsemanship knowledge.
A trusted care team who are all trained to provide consistent horse and farm care every day regardless of who's behind the wheel of daily chores.
Who Would Love to Call Cambria Home?
Cambria is a great fit for horse owners who…
Balance a busy life with their love for their horse and need peace of mind knowing their horse’s daily care is always in caring hands, whether they can visit or not.
Prefer a small, private setting rather than feeling like just another number at a large commercial barn.
Enjoy being part of a low-key barn community that’s friendly, respectful, and mindful of privacy and boundaries.
Enjoy occasional trail rides and an easygoing (and often lighthearted!) atmosphere.
Like to let their horse be a horse.
Cambria is a great fit for horses who…
Are calm, steady, respectful companions who can live peacefully alongside other horses.
Have all the basics needed to be part of a communal environment including patience, ground manners, the ability to be cross-tied, and comfort with being handled by various caretakers.
Thrive in a structured but relaxed routine and can be happy turned out or brought into a stall, if needed.
Benefit from slow, mindful management such as gradual introductions and flexible routine schedules.
Don’t mind dogs, chickens, children, or views of cows!
What sets us apart?
We Don't Fit in a Box
We're not a restrictive show barn, and we're not a rustic trail barn either. We're a trail riding family, but we also enjoy arena work and come from an English riding background. We don't fit neatly into any one industry label - we're essentially a small, neighborhood farm but with premium boutique care and amenities, built around what actually works rather than a defined barn style.
Cleanliness
A lot of barns get dusty and grimy, with feed buckets and water troughs that rarely get a real wash. We do things differently. Feed buckets are washed after every use. Water buckets are rinsed daily and disinfected regularly. Water troughs are routinely emptied, disinfected, and refilled, with solar aerators keeping the water moving so it never sits stagnant. Our barn aisle is cleaned twice daily, ceilings are dusted at least monthly, and our air-conditioned lounge and bathroom stay clean too.
Privacy
We're a small barn, and you'll often have the place to yourself. What you do with your own horse is your business. We've spent a lot of time at bigger barns where everyone's in everyone else's business, and we don't operate that way here. We're always available for advice, and as your horse's caretakers we'll be aware of everything going on with them, but no one's sitting around prying into your visits.
Comfort
We've been at a lot of barns where human comfort is an afterthought or considered unnecessary. Our air-conditioned lounge has a table, a small couch, a smart TV, a fridge, and a coffee, tea, and snack bar. Outside, you'll find Adirondack chairs facing sunset views, a table and chairs for lunch with a view of horses, a hammock, and plenty of shade to relax in. We provide battery operated fans for comfort wherever you decide to hang.
Technology
We're not old-fashioned the way most barns still are. Property-wide Wi-Fi, a digital waiver, and Slack for easy, organized communication keep things running smoothly. Our barn help uses digital checklists that track history over time, so nothing falls through the cracks.
A Nimble Team
When something breaks or an improvement comes to mind, we're often able to take care of it quickly, sometimes before your next visit. We can't promise that every time, since we balance the farm with full-time jobs outside of it, but it's how we've operated for a long time: doing our best to fix things before you even notice, and getting projects done fast.
