This is a home recipe for a Turkish pan-fried vegetable dish. Usually goes well with toast and eggs for a Mediterranean-style breakfast. This dish can be made vegan without ground beef. Gluten free.
Ingredients
2 onions
garlic (sliced or crushed) to taste
5 bell peppers
2 tomatoes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
olive oil (to taste)
spices (preferably cumin & basil, other things are also fine, to taste)
salt (to taste)
(optional) ground beef to taste
Process
Dice onions, slice bell peppers and tomatoes.
Heat up olive oil in a pan on a stove on high, add salt to taste
Add diced onions and garlic, fry while stirring
(optional) Add ground beef once onions start to soften
Once onions are starting to brown, add bell peppers and spices
Once bell peppers start to soften, add tomatoes and tomato paste, fry while stirring
Once all ingredients have sufficiently cooked (to taste), remove from heat and serve
