Travel to the conference is usually paid for by your home department. In cases where your own department, or other sources, cannot cover the cost, there are travel funds available to support you. To receive travel support, please email cuwip-info@calpoly.edu with a letter from your department indicating they cannot cover your travel cost and a screenshot of travel itinerary and cost before December 4, 2024, at 2:00pm PT. Travel costs that are not pre-approved may not be reimbursed.
We aim to make CU*iP accessible to everyone. All meals and accommodation during the conference are provided. You do not need to book or arrange accommodation on Friday or Saturday night.
There will be two conference hotels; Wayfarer and La Quinta Inn.
Students will be assigned two to a room, each room with two double beds, one bed per person. Participants may specify roommate preferences on the registration; otherwise, roommates will be assigned by the organizing committee. Your room assignments will be emailed to you prior to arrival. If you need to make alternative hotel arrangements or have any concerns, please email us at cuwip-info@calpoly.edu.
Speakers will be assigned a room reservation by the site. Non-undergraduate attendees, and chaperones may also be provided with a room reservation but will be responsible for the cost of the accommodation. Please cuwip-info@calpoly.edu to arrange accommodations.
Parking on campus is free after 5:00pm on Friday and throughout the weekend. The best place to park is in the Grand Avenue Parking Structure, accessible from Grand Avenue with a left-turn at the stoplight on Pacheco Way, in front of the Performing Arts Center. If you need parking before 5:00 pm on Friday, information will be provided via email after registration.
SLO Safe Rides will provide free shuttle service between the conference hotels and our campus conference location at the start and end of each day. It is also possible to walk the distance from the conference hotels to/from campus, which is an approximately 30-minute walk.
