As the final week of our "Pressure You Dont See" campaign, we decided a fun way to end off the campaign was to challenge our audience to perform one small task each day. These small tasks are actually substantial in reducing model minority stress and pressure! Our goal was to display how performing extremely minimal tasks and fun activities can be monumental in reducing and relieving model minority pressure.
On day one, we asked our audience to redefine success on their own terms and passions. This directs them away from societal standards, and towards what they actually want.
On day two, we advised our audience to make their own pressure playlist. This is a music playlist that the person can listen to whenever they are feeling pressured. Sometimes all we need is some good tunes!
On day three, we told our audience to laugh on purpose! Participants did any activity they wanted to that would make them laugh. One of the easiest ways to quickly get rid of negative thoughts is to replace them with positive ones.
On day four, we advised our audience to journal for five minutes. Writing your emotions and feelings down puts all of your thoughts on a sheet of paper, ensuring that you don't have to constantly think about whats pressuring you.
On day five, we asked our audience to take a walk in nature! Walks in nature are great for resetting our nervous system, clearing our headspace for troubles that life has to offer.
On day six, we asked our audience to dance like nobody's watching! This lets out your emotions, and similar to journaling, it externalizes your feelings so that you don't have to constantly feel them and experience negative thoughts
On day seven, we advised our audience to play a fun board or a card game. Entertaining, yet mentally challenging activities like these can take attention away from negative thoughts, and offer a quick yet effective break.
