DIVISION 14 - NORTHERN WYOMING - CASPER & SHERIDAN
I noticed that the June Roster indicated a loss of NMRA membership for Northern Wyoming. This loss was not surprising. The Casper Club is no longer requiring NMRA participation for membership in their club. Now, to hold a division meeting in Casper will no longer be possible. However, I do plan on attending some of the CWMRA operating sessions just to stay in touch. I do know that no one in Casper is interested in the Achievement Program or even holding a division office.
The Sheridan Club members still have NMRA membership. But this situation may change in the future because of the change in ownership for the building where the club is located. Again, no one is interested in the Achievement Program or holding a division office.
There are two individuals living in Buffalo who have expressed an interest in the Achievement Program. Therefore, I shall maintain an active division for the present.
It is difficult to maintain an active division where distance is the controlling factor for participation in any division activities. Sheridan has ten participating members. Casper now has five. The distance between both cities is 150 miles. The remaining ten non participating members are scattered over 60,000 square miles of the Wyoming Division. The distance is greater than 150 miles between the remaining cities. No one wants to drive that far a two hour meeting. The Northern Wyoming Division covers TOO large an area to be managed with any success.
