I attended the RMR Convention in Colorado Springs last month and had a great time. The Convention Committee put together an informative and interesting program and I learned several new tricks of the trade while there. I had the opportunity while attending to meet many of you in the Region, including many people for the first time and listened carefully to your many comments about the Region. Some of these ideas we will try to put into place in the near future.
I was impressed with the quality of the models in the contest room and urge all of you to start preparing models for next year’s contest. You do not need to enter models for Merit Judging only, bring some models for display as well as for the popular vote.
As I write this, next year’s committee is busy at work putting together a fun filled convention in Durango featuring a ride on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge. Also at this time, the National Narrow Gauge Committee is busy putting together their annual Convention, which is to be held in Denver. Please stay tuned for more information on these exciting conventions and be prepared to mark your calendars to attend. Remember the only way to enjoy and learn from conventions is to attend one.
Until next time, keep the trains rolling.
