FRONT RANGE - DIVISION 16 

The Narrow Gauge Convention was held in Kansas City this year and our member, Jack Haptonstall, attended. Jack is an HOn3 modeler and he took lots of photos on the layout tour. This was the feature of the November clinic. 

We had to hold the November meeting in the Richardson Library of the Colorado Railroad Museum. Here we are getting set up for Jack Haptonstall’s clinic on the Narrow Gauge Convention held in Kansas City.

There was no formal meeting in December. In place of it we held the annual “Gathering of the Elves” Christmas party at the club house of member Ned Habich. We sat around and talked trains, models, lies, and ate all kinds of Christmas goodies. It was a shame we had to eventually go home as we all had a good time. 

In January, we moved back to the regular meeting place at the Colorado RR Museum and had a clinic by Dr. Dean Dickerhoof on the Rock Island Railroad. Dean traveled all over eastern Colorado, western Kansas and Oklahoma taking photos (with real film) which were converted to digital for the clinic. We all got a chuckle over 'The Rock’s' different paint schemes and names as they substituted different doors on hood units leading to all kinds of letter combinations and different engine manufactures and models .

Dr. Dean Dickerhoof conducted the January clinic about the Rock Island Railroad. He traveled over the eastern portions of Colorado and western portions of Kansas and Oklahoma shooting trains and depots before the demise of 'The Rock'.

The Front Range Division meets in the main building (Delay Junction) of the Colorado Railroad Museum at 7:00 pm every third Monday to the month. Exceptions are in August when we have our picnic and December when we have our Christmas party.
